The Breakfast Club

In 1998 the WISH Christmas roof was based in the old Wembley police station which had been loaned to us by Acton Housing Association. This brought us into close contact with many of the regulars from Cricklewood Homeless Concern’s day centre.

As a result of this, and enthusiastic reports from these regulars, a closer working relationship has developed between the two organisations.

Due to budgetary constraints Cricklewood Homeless Concern are unable to open their doors on Sundays. WISH has been invited to take over the running the day centre on Sundays to fill the present gap in service provision.

Discussions are now underway with a view to initially offering a Sunday morning breakfast service. If this proves successful it may be possible in the future to extend the opening hours and range of services offered.

Initial estimates suggest that the cost will be in the range of £3-6,000 a year, and will need the services of about seventy-five volunteers on a rota basis.
