Development

WISH's aims are: The Christmas Roof continues to be the major part of the charity's work. Our experience has increasingly shown the need to expand this type of service into other areas of West London. In addition, talking to guests who visit the Roof, it is clear that there is scope to extend the quality and range of services both at Christmas and throughout the year.

WISH's outreach work over Christmas, together with the information gathered through research, has confirmed the very real need for a regular hot food and clothing service. A key objective for the Trustees in 1998 is to raise the necessary additional funds to set up and operate a mobile provision across the West of London.

The lack of suitable healthcare provision for street homeless people remains an unresolved issue. Albeit temporarily, WISH is able to addrss this problem for one week over Christmas.  A focus of future development must be to increase access to the services that those who are not homeless take for granted.

In the longer term our aim is to secure sufficient funding to employ a research and development worker to expand further the activities of the charity.
