The People Who Give Goods

Acknowledgements

We had to work to a very tight budget and this was helped by some large donations in kind including:
Balfour Beatty Rail (Vans)

Duffy Construction

Jansons & Partners

PKL Group (Free hire of cookers)

Pressuag Ltd. (fire extinguishers)

Regal Hire (Tables & Chairs)

Stratall Ltd. (The building)

The London Refrigeration Society
(A walk-in cold room for the 2nd year)

as well as numerous smaller donations of bedding and food.

Teacrate, the crate rental company, provides purpose designed storage and removal crates and ancillary equipment. They are also a long-term WISH supporter.
Name  John Mitchell
Director, Teacrate plc
Day job Operational responsibility
“Teacrate moves 19 million crates a year for 1,700 customers across the UK. 94% of orders have a lead time of under 24 hours so it’s quite a logistical challenge to ensure the right crates are delivered to, and collected from, the right place at the right time.”
WISH jobs  Teacrate normally lends WISH 500 crates for the Christmas Roof. We use them for storing and moving about the Roof site food, clothing and general supplies.
Favourite Footbal Team Arsenal - and don’t blame Seaman for that World Cup goal – the outfielders should have scored more!
How WISH makes a difference
A crate is a crate is a crate… isn’t it?
“Most people know our crates are used for office and commercial removals. However, our 60+ products have a wide range of uses, from agriculture to IT to food transport. In fact, Teacrate products delivered most of the food to the Palace for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.”
Why does Teacrate support WISH?
“Each year we adopt one or two charities such as NCH Action for Kids and RNIB.  We have added to money our staff have raised jumping from planes and abseiling from skyscrapers.
In addition, we always try to help charities that can get valuable use from our products, such as delivering food to Eastern Europe… and of course WISH.”
What do you think about homelessness?
“It’s a problem that always seems to be fudged rather than tackled. For example, where I live in Buckinghamshire, the local council claims there is no homelessness problem.  But they are only able to say this because they ship homeless people out to the nearest large town where, presumably, they are less visible.”
