Annual Report

West London Initiative on Single Homelessness

The Person Who Chairs The Charity

The reputation and reach of WISH continue to grow each year.

During 2001/2002 WISH ran it’s most successful Christmas Roof providing a safe haven and a “family Christmas” to an average of over sixty people each day.

WISH strengthened links with Quaker Homeless Action and The London Mobile Open Christmas, as well as continuing to work with Crisis. This enabled WISH to offer a pan London dimension to our service for the first time. We look forward to strengthening and deepening these links in the future.

The Breakfast Club goes from strength to strength with as many as sixty breakfasts being served. This year round service permits WISH to remain in contact with service users and to monitor and respond to their changing needs.
As always none of this would be possible without the continued commitment and support of our donors who contribute both financially and in kind.

WISH remains an entirely voluntary organisation relying on the several hundred people each year who commit their time and effort to enhance the lives of West London’s homeless.

How WISH makes a difference
WISH is able to get to know its clients in a much more intimate way than larger organizations.

This means that we are able to be on first name terms with many of them and able to respond to individual need.

Like when Ireland played Spain in the World Cup we were able to extend the opening hours of the Breakfast Club to allow them to watch the game.

Volunteers and clients are able to look upon each other as human beings and not as the haves and have nots.
