JULY
In July, we sent out the first newsletter of the year, these are produced three times a year, and all volunteers who have worked with us in recent years receive one. The newsletter contained information on WISH'S current and planned work and ways in which volunteers could become more involved.

Everyone who works for WISH is a volunteer and we rely entirely on their combined efforts, above all, enthusiasm to provide our services helping the needy people of West London. 16 The Christmas Roof requires around 400 volunteers and our Sunday Breakfast service needs six teams of about a dozen people. We are constantly reviewing our existing volunteer base, both in terms of numbers and skills. Being able to call or people with specific skills such as caterers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, doctors, dentists, nurses, first aiders, advice workers, hairdressers and entertainers makes everything run much more smoothly.
Some volunteers help in other ways, with:
  • Volunteer recruitment
  • Fundraising
  • Loan of equipment for the Roof
  • Contact with commercial estate agents for the loan of a building for the Roof

  • Talks to schools, youth or church groups, etc.
